“We will now have to tighten up the weapons regulations… in particular with regard to the use of knives… I’m sure this will happen very quickly.”

“More weapons-free zones and stricter weapons laws – nobody in Germany needs cutting and stabbing weapons in public. We are no longer living in the Middle Ages.”

This was due to a stabbing spree that occurred on August 23, 2024, at the “Festival of Diversity” (Festival der Vielfalt), a public event celebrating Solingen’s 650th anniversary. 3 were killed and 8 were injured by a celebrity of the Festival, or he was supposed to be. Issa al Hassan, a culturaly diverse man from Syria who came to Germany in 2022 (2 years prior) under asylum but was rejected and was set to be deported. Germany never go around to that and he remained in the country. Issa al Hassan, was, is, and admitted he was an Islamic State member (ISIS), with the group claiming him and his acts as their own. With the media saying “The suspect’s motive is unknown”.

This all being a better option than dealing with the problem, which is Islam. But that would be Islamophobic. Or what is now a better slur media uses, Far-Right. Sky news, news media in the U.K., were talking about this incident giving “more power to the Far-Right”. Of course , that is what we all should be worried about , especially those that were present during the stabbing spree. I’m sure the families of three dead and the eight injured, are concerned with that most. As you should be as well, because it’s not Islam and the people who commit these acts in the name of islam. It’s whatever political party you oppose.That should in be the forefront of your mind and the target of your protest and fight.
